Extreme challenges and good tactical skills are required as Finland’s and the world’s best endurance athletes race against each other in Endurance Quest Adventure Race. This Finland’s toughest sport race is held on 24th -28th July 2012. The Race center will be located in Evitskog in Kirkkonummi, 20 km west from Helsinki.

During four days of non-stop racing, the mixed teams of four will use their legs, bikes, canoes, boats and inline skates among other means of transport as they make their way from one check point to the next. In addition, the race course will test the teams’ rope and navigation skills as well as mental skills in some secret disciplines. The route choices and rest plan will have a crucial impact on which team will cross the finish line first.

”The race course will be about 600 km long, and cross small towns like Raasepori, Hanko, Siuntio, Kirkkonummi and Inkoo. The course will take advantage of the special features of the amazing terrain Finland has, such as the sea and other water areas. We are looking forward to showing the international teams all the great things the Finnish nature has to offer”, the designer of the race course Petri Forsman says. Forsman is an experienced adventure racer and won the Adventure Racing World Championships in 2001.

Endurance Quest is part of the Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS) and the European Series in Adventure Racing (ARES). The best teams will get a chance to race for the world title in the Adventure Race World Championships in France in September. All the best Finnish adventure racers will be at the start line, including Adventure Racing European Champions and European Rogaining Champions 2009 Janne Mononen and Eero Jäppinen.

“It’s awesome to be able to race in our own country and in this wonderful terrain. I believe the race will be very demanding and of very high quality. I hope we’ll see many international teams here in July”, Janne Mononen says. the main website is there
